Better Kick browser extension · Last updated 14 August 2026
Better Kick collects no data. It has no servers, no analytics, no tracking and no accounts. Nothing you see, type or watch on Kick is recorded, transmitted or shared with anyone, including the developer.
What the extension does
Better Kick changes how kick.com looks in your own browser: it strips chat down to plain text, hides subscription and gift announcements, keeps a readable log of deleted messages, applies a purple theme and locks the video player to 1080p. All of this happens locally, on the page already loaded in your browser.
Information the extension stores
Everything below is stored by your browser on your own device. None of it is sent anywhere.
| What | Where | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Your feature toggles (plain chat, purple theme, force 1080p, and so on) — a list of on/off values | chrome.storage.sync |
So the popup remembers your settings between sessions |
| Your pinned video quality | Local storage on kick.com | So the player returns to 1080p after reloads and channel changes |
| Your Browse-page filters and collapsed sidebar / chat panel state | Local storage on kick.com | So your layout comes back the way you left it |
If you are signed into your browser with sync enabled, your browser may sync the toggle list across your own devices. That is the browser's own sync feature, handled by your browser vendor; the extension neither operates it nor can read the synced data anywhere other than on your device. Uninstalling the extension removes these settings.
The deleted-message log
The extension keeps a short log of chat messages that moderators removed, so you can read back what was said. This log lives only in the memory of the open tab. It is never written to disk, never uploaded, and disappears the moment you reload or close the page. It is built entirely from the chat data Kick already sends to your browser.
Network connections
Better Kick contacts no server of its own — none exists. The only network requests it makes are to fetch Kick's own logo and favicon images from kick.com, so it can recolour them for the purple theme. These are sent without credentials (no cookies or session data) and return images only. No request carries any information about you, and no data leaves your device.
Permissions and why they are needed
storage— to save your on/off preferences for the extension's own features. Nothing else is written to storage.- Access to
kick.com— the extension only modifies kick.com, so it needs access to those pages to apply its styles and scripts. No other website is requested, and the extension does nothing on any other site.
Remote code
All of the extension's code ships inside the extension package. Nothing is downloaded or executed from a remote source at runtime.
Data sharing and sale
Because no data is collected, no data is sold, transferred or shared with third parties. No data is used for advertising, credit assessment or lending. No data is used for any purpose unrelated to the extension's single purpose.
Children
The extension collects no data from anyone, of any age.
Changes to this policy
If the extension ever changes in a way that affects this policy, this page will be updated and the date at the top revised. The page's full history is public in the source repository.
